DIY - Brooch and Sneak Peek of Wardrobe Wednesday.

Hello Everyone!

Finally I managed to put up a DIY Post. How to make a re-sizable ring into a fashionable brooch.

Items Required :

Animal/ Insect design re-sizable ring.
A big safety pin.
Glue Gun
Gold color paint.

1. Expand the rim of the re- sizable ring and make it flat. Flat enough to hoard the safety pin.(As shown in the photo above).

2. Using a glue gun stick the safety pin to the ring (there are chances the pin can fall off). Therefore, I welded the safety pin to the ring. You can also do the same. Any local welding shop will do it for 10Rs.

3. Paint the edges of the ring and the pin. Your brooch is ready to use:).

Hope you liked the idea. I dint find a beetle but I liked this weird looking insect. It went perfectly with the outfit I am posting this week. How's the sneak peek of this week's post??

Loads of love,

Black, White and Bell Skirt.

Hi Everyone.

Time for Wardrobe Wednesday and this week's inspiration is Bell Skirt.

I am wearing

White Shirt - Priceless ( thrifted it for 299 Rs during 80% sale)
Bell Skirt - Van Huesen ( thrifted it for 799 Rs during 80% sale)
Sky high heels - Brigade road ( cost me 1100 Rs)
Oversized Leopard clutch - Stilettos Diary (ON SALE!!)
Accessories - Chain - Queen Mendes Chain courtesy Lotus Mendes.
Cuffs - Forever 21 (gift)
Rings - Goddess Ring courtesy Lotus Mendes.
Falcon Ring - Stilettos Diary
Sunglasses - Polo Club (thrifted from pepperfry.com for 500Rs during 80% promotional sale.)

The bell skirt stands for 'sophistication'. But there is a certain combination that makes it so. Few style tips on how to incorporate bell skirt for everyday looks.

1. Neutral colors top depending on the color of the bell skirt. (Go for standard colors like white, beige or black). I choose sheer white shirt.

2. Tucked top to balance the loose bottom.

3. Add sky high heels, gladiators or flats to finish the look.

4. Keep hair and makeup minimal since the look is simple but powerful.

5. Loads of gold accessories to complete the look.

6. I have added a twist with leopard print sunglasses and leopard clutch. Always ensure that your bag and footwear, sunglasses and footwear or belt and footwear are matching. It's a golden rule which works for almost any outfit.

7. I have also added a hint of red to the outfit with red goddess ring and red nail paint.Black, white and red color combination is eternal and never goes out of fashion.

You can win Lotus Mendes Goddess rings. Click on the image to participate!

Loads of love,

All Over Lace.

Hello everyone.

Time for Wardrobe Wednesday. This week's inspiration is little black lace dress and how to nail a celebrity look for less.

I am wearing

Black Lace Dress - Lifestyle (From Splash Collections - got during sale for 1000 Rs.)
Tote Bag - Gift (I revamped the bag with chain detailing.)
Watch - Fastrack.
Cat eye Sunglasses - Vision Express (got during 30% sale for 800 Rs.)
Faux python heels - Inc 5 (Got during 50% sale for 799 Rs.)
Pearl Earrings - Vintage.
Makeup - M.A.C /Maybelline.
Nail polish - Colorama (shade - Vermelho Ardente)

Little Black Lace dress is an ultimate summer look. It's very easy to add edgy sophistication to the lace dress by keeping few essential style tips in mind.

1. Lace dress can be styled for a everyday look by adding statement heels. I am wearing faux python high heels. To break the femininity of the outfit you can add ankle boots

2. Red Nails definitely adds the extra oomph to the outfit.

3. Colored tote bag or quilted cross body bag is perfect way of accessorize lace dress.

The same black dress can be converted into a cocktail party look by minor alterations.

1. Statement Ring to break the femininity of the look. Keep the accessories to the minimum.

2. Go for Red lipstick. It definitely sasses up the outfit.

3. French twist and pearl earrings adds a sophisticated look to the lace dress.

4. Replace the tote bag with a statement clutch preferably in bright color.

My look is inspired by Brooklyn-Decker-In-Nha-Khanh red carpet look. I just added a personal twist with faux python heels and went with pink lips to convert it to everyday day outfit.

I found this black lace dress in Lifestyle Splash collections and was amazed at its striking resemble to Brooklyn Decker's outfit. Keep an eye out girls you can definitely nail celebrity look for less.

Hope these tips help you style lace dresses better.

Loads of love,

Military and Lace.

Hello Everyone.

It's time for Wardrobe Wednesday. This week's inspiration is Military Jacket and Lace Dress.

I am wearing

Lace Dress (dress worn as skirt) - Lifestyle (Splash Collections)
Military Jacket - Lifestyle (Splash Collections) (Dress and jacket bought during sale for 1000 Rs each.)
Pearl earrings - Vintage
Watch : Fastrack
Envelope Clutch - Crunchyfashion.com
Shoes - Trendz Bangalore (Got during 50% sale - cost me 800 Rs)
Cat Eye Sunglasses - Vision Express (Got during 40% sale - cost me 800 Rs)
Make up - M.A.C / Maybelline.

Lace continues to be one of the biggest trend this season. This spring we did see Military jackets make a comeback in Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.

Two people who I think have rocked the Military trend are Kate Middleton , Duchess of Cambridge. She adds a very sophisticated touch to the trend. The second person is of course none other than "Michael Jackson". Can any of us forget the outrageous military jackets, the moon walk and the amazing songs??

But the biggest question is how to incorporate military trend for every-day looks? The best way to incorporate overly-fashionable trends is moderation. Few tips on how to incorporate Military trend :

1. One of the best way to break the femininity of lace dress is by teaming it up with wear a military jacket. (Like I have)

2. Be reasonable with the patterns and buttons to reduce the gaudiness the military trend tends to carry.

3. Ensure the military jacket stands out by pairing it with neutrals.( I have paired it with black)

4. Add a little pop of color in your accessories. (I have added red color in terms of heels and envelope clutch). Don't go overboard with colors. Remember one bright color at a time.

5. Pearl earrings are a perfect way to add a sophisticated look to the entire outfit.

Another great way of styling Military Jackets is colored Denims. Levi's has come up with new ankle skinny jeans as a part of Levi’s® Curve ID – custom fitting jeans that’s all about shape not size. Its inspired by Audrey Hepburn's timeless style, elegance and class.

The new denim collection for Spring 2012 features a wide variety of innovative, on-trend finishes ranging from bright indigo, tomato red and sunset coral to authentically crafted and worn looks. Have you checked out Levi's Curve ID yet???

Loads of love,

Ready Red.

Hello Everyone.

Time for Wardrobe Wednesday. This week's inspiration : horizontal stripes and color blocking.

I am wearing..

Horizontal Stripes Tunic - Max
Red Jacket - Thrifted from the streets of Malleswaram.(as seen in The Girl In the Red Coat)
Yellow Bag - Gift
Studded yellow sky high heels : yebhi.com (as seen in Wintery Blues and Yellow Shoes)
Watch - Fastrack
Cat eye Sunglasses - Vision Express (as seen in Bling Cat)
Jeggings - Nobrand.
Accessories : Lifestyle (owl chain)
yebhi.com

How to style Horizontal Stripes : (few style tips to help you get rid of the myths)

1. If you are petite, medium or larger stripes will dwarf you. Try wearing narrow stripes.

2. If you are medium scale, choose medium stripes.

3. Very tall and naturally slim, choose larger scale stripes.

4. Larger scale but curvy, choose medium stripe rather than a large one.

5. The wider the horizontal, the more your eye will slow down and focus on it and give a broadening effect.

6. The narrower the stripe, the harder it is for our eye to focus on one line, so narrow horizontals actually starts working like verticals, moving the eye up and down, rather than side to side.

7. The longer horizontal stripes (like I am wearing) acts similar to a vertical stripes and gives a elongated look without adding width.

8. While color blocking stripes stick to primary colors. (I chose red and yellow).

9. You can add 5th color but ensure you don't go overboard with colors. I have added blue earrings (again primary color. Ensure the 5th color is usually in the form of accesories).

Hope these style tips help you style horizontal stripes better and helps u let go of the myth "HORIZONTAL STRIPES MAKES YOU LOOK FAT"
