Final Hours Before Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week.

Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week starts tomorrow. (super excited :) )

Here's an update on what happened last week.The headlines, schedule, PETA collaboration and Tokyo Fashion Week at Wills India Lifestyle Fashion Week.

1. The Fashion Design Council of India announced a special show to generate awareness for a drive against human trafficking as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. Scheduled to be showcased at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2012, FDCI will be supporting ‘YouCanFree.Us’ - a not-for-profit organisation working towards rescuing and rehabilitating women who become victims of human trafficking in India.

2.Twelve leading FDCI designers - Manish Arora, Suneet Varma, JJ Valaya, Tarun Tahiliani, Shantanu & Nikhil, Ashima-Leena, Ritu Beri, Ashish Soni, Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna, Hemant Lecoanet, Ravi Bajaj and Rajesh Pratap Singh - will lend their support to the cause. The designers have lined up a showcase of their creations for the event with the theme - “From Ashes to Beauty”. The show is scheduled for Friday, February 17 at 5:45 pm.

3.PETA, FDCI AND BOLLYWOOD JOIN FOR “FASHION FOR FREEDOM—BOYCOTT ZOOS” CAMPAIGN
Gulshan Grover, Mahima Chaudhary and Sunil Sethi announced New Initiative at Upcoming Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. They announced that with the help of two caged models wearing body fitting costumes to resemble big cats. They want people to know that animals belong in nature, not locked up in cages in zoos. The campaign will extend to FDCI's next fashion week in September.

FDCI announces the show schedule for Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2012

Designer duo Shantanu & Nikhil to open for WIFW 2012

New Delhi, January 30th, 2012: The Fashion Design Council of India today announced the show schedule for the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2012.The 19th edition of WIFW will kick off on Wednesday, February 15th with 138 designers featuring splendid creations.

Shantanu & Nikhil, a label synonymous with luxury and known for elegance and sophistication will take centre stage as the curtains go up for Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Autum-Winter 2012. Opening the show on Day 1, the designer duo will showcase their impressive bridge line (S&N Drape) for the coming season.
