Hello Everyone.
Recently I stumbled upon Adolfo Sanchez (via www.adolfosanchezdesigns.com - so glad I did). The moment I saw the collection it reminded me of Mary Darby Robinson poem:
“EXULTING BEAUTY, ¬phantom of an hour,
Whose magic spells enchain the heart”
Adolfo Sanchez designs did enchain my heart. I was spell bound by the exquisite, unique and inspiring collection. The collection is simple yet there is a theatrical detailing to each outfit.
After seeing his collection, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I wanted to own every single piece of his collection.I love the silhouette, the cut and the design of every single piece in his collection. They are designed to bring out the gorgeous and fashionable you.
Adolfo Sanchez’s designs are reincarnation of the different experiences and inspirations he has encountered in his life. His designs are as unique as him. Sanchez knows that to stay ahead he has to constantly search for new ideas and challenges.
The journey of Adolfo Sanchez started in 2006, when he decided to take his creativity and begin a women's ready to wear line.
His work has been featured in countless magazines. Sanchez has grown his business into a brand that offers custom, ready to wear, accessories, leather goods and most recently a home collection. "I'm inspired by everything - people, places, music, and there is so much more to do, that I sometimes wonder if I have become obsessed with this industry"
Adolfo Sanchez also offers “bespoke”, a chance to create your heart's desire…The bespoke is a unique experience. It begins with a visit to their studio, to discuss ideas and materials.
The second visit, they will present you with sketches and a selection of fabrics and materials.
Once you approved the designs, they will begin to handcraft your design. Bringing to life a detailed piece of art made to fit your measurements perfectly.
The final visit is a special experience, your personal design transformed into a jewel to treasure.
I got a chance to ask Adolfo Sanchez few questions. This is what he had to say..
1. Your inspiration comes from everyday experiences, can you share how you interpret them into your lovely design?
I would say the way I interpret them into a design is by taking my surroundings and anything that can visually stimulate my mind and I allow it to develop into it's own idea.
2. When you create something, what goes through your mind?
Multiple ideas go through my mind when I design...how does the whole look of the garment appear...how does is the fit....is it flattering... is it creative.. is it wearable? These are all questions things that go through my mind when I am creating.
3. In your earlier years, how did you decide that you eventually wanted to become a designer?
When I was about 15 or 16 years old, I started to really get into the art of fashion. My primary group of friends were largely interested in several of the fashion houses; through their influence, I got my first taste of the who's who of fashion. I remember them showing me runway shows from designers like Thierry Mugler and Vivienne Westwood. Later on I began working in retail and soon I worked for some of the larger fashion houses like Gucci, and Versace. In early 2006 I decided that I wanted to design and really explore pursuing a career in the industry.
4. How do you intend women to feel when wearing Adolfo Sanchez labeled clothing?
I like when women feel confident and powerful in my designs. Women should feel that they are in full control of their style; she should wear the garment instead of the garment wearing her.
5. What do you have to say to the next generation, particularly for those hoping to follow in your footsteps?
Make sure to have patience, dedication, perseverance, thick skin, and creativity with an understanding of wear ability. I also think that in order to be a designer you should have the knowledge of how to construct a garment from scratch. You should know the process that begins with the idea in your mind to the finished product that is ready for a client to wear.
I was lucky enough to ask him few questions. But do you have a question for him??? Let me know here. Adolfo Sanchez has agreed to do a twitter interview with me. Join me live and get a chance to ask him the question. The twitter interview will be on Friday. Timings will be announced shortly.
